Don’t Crave for Miracles at Kiwamirembe Prayer Place-Bishop Paul Ssemogerere
Hundreds of the faithful on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 made a pilgrimage to Kankoole-Kiwamirembe prayer place in Kikyusa parish in Kasana-Luweero diocese.
The pilgrimage was in respect of the assumption of Mary Mother.
Kankoole-Kiwamirembe prayer place was named after Mary Mother by Bishop Paul Ssemogerere the ordinary of Kasana-Luweero Diocese.
The pilgrims came from different parts of the diocese and outside.
The prelate celebrated holy sacrifice of Mass at 10.am under the shade constructed to provide shelter to the congregation that gathers for prayers.
While delivering his homily, he commended the two committees charged with the development of the prayer place into a faith based tourism site.
The first committee which is headed by Mr John Kizuula is dubbed Kankoole Committee while the second is codenamed Kasana Tourism Initiative [KATI] chaired by Rev. Fr. Dr. Lawrence Kimbowa.
Currently, the prayer place which is situated on a hill has had a road constructed from down the slope to ease access. There is also a shelter which is used by believers especially those who convene in prayer. A perimeter wall has also been built to break the strong winds that used to hit temporal shelters causing destruction of property and jeopardizing the life of those under the shelter during prayers.
Bishop Ssemogerere asked the pilgrims to always remember Rev. Fr. Fluvio Christoforetti who formerly served in Kasaala Parish for his hand in the earlier development of Kankoole.
He also asked the pilgrims to stop craving for miracles as they pray to Mary mother while at Kankoole.
